Course Description
This elective course will cover the ecology, pathogenesis, and transmission of various vector-borne agents, it consists of two to three one-hour lectures per week and two 1.5-hour scientific paper discussions. Lecture topics include arthropod immunology, host response to vector-borne pathogens, Lyme disease and other tick-borne bacterial diseases, vector-borne parasitic diseases such as malaria, leishmaniasis, and Chagas disease, as well as epidemiological methods and outbreak response strategies in the context of vector-borne diseases.
